Omega Seamaster Review — VSF Super Clone
The Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M is a serious dive watch — 43.5mm of ceramic and titanium, water-resistant to 600 meters. Replicating it is a challenge that VSF has taken on, and given VSF's reputation for Omega replicas, expectations were high.
Price: $468 | Movement: VSF clone 8900 | Factory: VSF
Hands-On Experience
This is a big watch. At 43.5mm, it wears large even on average wrists. The weight is convincing — the ceramic case middle keeps it lighter than a full steel watch of this size, but it still has presence. The black/orange colour scheme is striking in person.
The bezel is ceramic with a deep black base and white/orange numerals. The 60-minute dive bezel rotates with 120 clicks that are firm and well-defined. The orange numerals pop against the black ceramic — this is one area where VSF consistently delivers.
The bracelet is brushed stainless steel with a divers extension clasp. It's comfortable but the edges are slightly sharper than gen — a quick polish would fix this.
Accuracy & Quality
The dial is where VSF has done their best work. The orange accents match the gen colour perfectly — too orange looks fake, too dull looks faded. VSF got the balance right. The applied hour markers are well aligned and the Omega logo at 12 o'clock is correctly positioned.
The date window at 3 o'clock has correct magnification (about 2x). The helium escape valve at 10 o'clock is functional, though on a replica it's purely cosmetic — it won't actually equalise pressure.
The crystal is domed sapphire with AR coating on both sides, giving it that disappearing-crystal effect that Omega is known for. This is surprisingly well-executed and one of the best features of this replica.
Movement Notes
The VSF clone of the Omega 8900 movement is a well-regarded powerplant. It features a co-axial-style escapement (decorative, not true co-axial) and runs at 25,200 vph with a 60-hour power reserve. The movement decoration through the display case back shows correct Geneva waves and a gold-coloured rotor — visually convincing.
Accuracy tested at -5 seconds per day over 72 hours. The movement holds consistent timing whether the watch is worn or sitting dial-up. The automatic winding is efficient and quiet.
Verdict
VSF has produced one of the best Omega replica movements on the market. If you can handle the 43.5mm size, this is a compelling package — great dial execution, accurate bezel, and a reliable clone movement.
Who should buy it: Divers (or desk divers) who want the Planet Ocean look with a reliable movement. The orange accents are subtle enough for daily wear.
Who should skip it: Anyone with smaller wrists — this watch wears large. Try it on at an AD first to gauge the size.
